Position Overview
The Civil 3D Drafter & Modeller is responsible for preparing, developing, and managing detailed civil engineering drawings and 3D models using Autodesk Civil 3D and related CAD software. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with engineering standards, contributing to high-quality project deliverables across infrastructure and development projects.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Drafting & Modelling
- Develop 2D and 3D civil engineering drawings and models using Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Create topographic surfaces, grading plans, profiles, alignments, corridors, and pipe networks.
- Prepare detailed drawings for roads, highways, drainage systems, earthworks, and utilities.
- Update and revise models/drawings based on engineer and project manager feedback.
B. Project Support
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and survey teams to ensure drawings reflect accurate field data.
- Translate survey data into accurate digital terrain models (DTMs).
- Support preparation of tender drawings, construction drawings, and as-built documentation.
C. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, client specifications, and PEC/industry codes.
- Maintain version control of drawings and ensure timely updates.
- Conduct quality checks to identify errors, inconsistencies, or clashes in models.
D. Coordination & Reporting
- Work closely with design engineers to resolve technical issues.
- Provide progress updates to Section Head / Project Manager.
- Assist in preparing drawing registers and maintaining project documentation.
3. Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in civil drafting/modelling with strong focus on infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and related software.
- Knowledge of BIM workflows will be an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and survey data.
